Bio: PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of “Culture Letterarie e Filologiche” at the University of Bologna. Her research focuses on political discourse analysis, ecolinguistics, translation studies, translanguaging, teaching Italian as a second language, and the literary works of Dino Buzzati and J. R. R. Tolkien. Raimo is the author of ‘Lettere a un soldato. L’italiano dei semicolti nella corrispondenza di Antonio Acquavivola’ (Mephite, 2020) and has published several articles on the language of semi-literate, ecolinguistics, and political discourse analysis, with particular emphasis on the rhetoric of Boris Johnson, Matteo Salvini, Viktor Orban, Jair Bolsonaro, Marine Le Pen, Donald Trump. She has also published studies on the language of Greta Thunberg, Chris Packham, ‘Il segreto del Bosco Vecchio’ in Dino Buzzati and Ermanno Olmi, and the language used in travel blogs written in Italian and English. Her doctoral research examines Italian political discourse on environmental issues, comparing speeches delivered in Italian and English at COP conferences from 2010 to the present.
